Advisory Board

The Advisory Board is a consultative body that provides the Board of Directors with professional perspectives and framework-level input. Members are typically drawn from fields such as law, tax, family governance, cross-border compliance, philanthropy, or related professions.

Responsibilities include:

providing input on governance policies, rules-based design, and cross-jurisdictional collaboration;
assisting in identifying potential compliance, ethical, or structural risks; and
offering non-binding guidance on long-term strategic direction.

The Advisory Board does not exercise governance authority and does not represent the Platform in providing any professional services. Its role is advisory, non-executive, and non-transactional and does not involve client matters, commercial negotiations, or regulated professional determinations.

Professional Overview:
Ron Blue is the founder of the Ron Blue Institute (RBI), which serves Christian universities, churches, high schools, and financial professionals nationally and globally, and is dedicated to multiplying Ron’s decades of professional experience and intellectual property through publications, curriculum development, courses, and consultation across multiple outlets worldwide.
Earlier in his career, Ron founded several organizations, including Blue & Co., an Indianapolis-based CPA firm that has grown to become one of the 50 largest CPA firms in the United States; Blue Trust, a financial planning firm that grew to advise on over $59 billion in assets for more than 10,000 clients nationwide with a staff of over 400 professionals across 17 offices; Kingdom Advisors (KA), a ministry that trains Christian financial professionals to integrate biblical wisdom into their client advice; and the National Christian Foundation (NCF), a ministry that helps generous people create biblically principled strategies for faithful stewardship and generous living. Ron is the author of more than twenty books on personal finance from a biblical perspective.
Ron and his wife, Judy, have been married for over 60 years. They have five adult children, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren and live in Bloomington, Indiana.

Russ Gunsalus

Practices:
Russ Gunsalus serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Ron Blue Institute. He brings years of experience in Christian higher education and denominational church leadership to this position.
Russ’s most recent role before RBI was Executive Director for Education and Clergy Development (ECD) for The Wesleyan Church, where he provided strong leadership in support of clergy and lay ministers and the denomination’s five universities and seminary.
Professional Experience:
Among his many accomplishments there, Russ founded the National Flourishing in Ministry Conference (now Common Table) Collaborative), led The Gathering Conference for thriving clergy, and established the Thrive Financial Initiative, designed to help pastors address financial challenges.
Russ served as an associate professor and Chair of Graduate Studies in Ministry at Indiana Wesleyan University. and was also the co-creator and founding COO of Wesley Seminary. Russ lives in Marion, Indiana with his wife, Erica, where they attend College Wesleyan Church. Russ enjoys hiking, traveling, fly fishing, and visiting his grandchildren.
