Peter LIU
Practices:
Mr. Liu focuses his practice on cross-border wealth structuring, family governance, and strategic philanthropy, with a particular emphasis on U.S. trust structures and cross-border succession structuring. His work centers on the structural integration and sustained effectiveness of such arrangements across multiple jurisdictions.
Over the course of his practice, Mr. Liu has developed an approach grounded in structural frameworks, informed by a wisdom-based view of wealth. He emphasizes the use of structural coordination mechanisms in complex environments to support sound long-term decision-making.
In multi-professional, cross-border contexts, Mr. Liu facilitates collaboration among independent professional institutions through clearly defined role boundaries and governance arrangements. He operates within a framework in which the governance layer and professional service layer remain structurally separate, with coordination achieved through defined structural arrangements, enabling stable and effective multi-disciplinary collaboration in support of orderly and long-term family legacy.
Mr. Liu adopts a stewardship-oriented approach to client service, emphasizing accountability, self-control, and structural clarity. Through ongoing governance support, he works alongside clients to navigate complex cross-border environments and pursue long-term objectives.
In the field of structured finance, Mr. Liu has been engaged in asset securitization legal practice since 2004, when he participated in the inaugural onshore credit asset securitization transaction of China Development Bank. He has since accumulated extensive experience in asset securitization and structured financing transactions. Since 2006, Mr. Liu has actively contributed to the development of the China Securitization Forum, promoting dialogue and collaboration among domestic and international market participants.
